Catching up
We went to Southern California for Christmas. I had not seen my mom in four years and thought it best to do so as she is getting older. Mom lives in Idaho real close to my youngest sister and her family. She loves it there where she lives. It is sort of like assisted living in a way. They have pull cords in the bedrooms and bathrooms. If the cord is pulled the managers take off running. Anyway my one sister said it would be her last trip and we decided to go. All four of us girls were there. It was great seeing everyone. Also three of my neices and three of my nephews along with thier kids. There were ten little ones there and I can't begin to tell you how well they all behaved. No arguing at all. No telling on each other as well. I just couldn't believe it. They all just get along so well. We had a wonderful visit with my mom and the rest of my family. We arrived there on Friday night and had to leave Sunday afternoon. Before we left on Sunday we had a very nice breakfast with a very special person. I had not seen this person in a while but it was not a strained meeting at all. It was like we had known each other forever. This person will read this entry and I just want to tell her Thanks again for having breakfast with hubby and me. We left and we down through the mountain pass (can't remember which one but I think it was 86) and headed towards Yuma, Az. Some old friends of Hubby's lives there in the winter. Also, someone I met on my space just a couple months ago. She summers here in Lakeside and winters in Yuma too. I had not met her or her hubby at that time. So we rounded everyone together to meet up at the casino there and we were going to visit with each other and have dinner as well. We reach the casino and mind you, I have no real idea of what my new friend looks like except the picture that is on my space. Hey that could be two years old for all I knew. She did, however, inform me that her hubby was black. No biggy as far as I was concerned. So when we walk into the casino, they are right there playing the slots. Wow! A white woman and a black man. I found them right off the bat, lol. So we have the intoductions and off we go to find hubby's friends. We were to meet in front of the resturant. We get there and no one was there so my hubby calls them and he hears a phone ring and low and behold his friend is at the other corner of the resturant. It was really funny, one of those "You gotta be there things". All in all we had a great time visiting. I really can't wait till May when my new friend and her hubby come back up here. Meanwhile we will just write back and forth to each other. I promised her I would keep her busy tho with all the BBQ's that we have and evenings of games etc. We left Yuma on Christmas morning and headed home. Took our time and ended up going to a friends parents home for desert there in Globe. We got home around sevenish, ate and went to bed. We were really tired from all the driving and visiting. So that was our Christmas.
