Our Thanksgiving 2006
Wow, what a day we had. I woke up about 6:30 am. We always eat early on holidays so I had to get to work. Krazy and her friend spent the night and Krazy wanted to help so I woke her up and we got started. We did the dressing just a little bit different this year. Not by much tho. I like to try new things every now and then. I did alot of the prep the day before. So we got the bird stuffed and in the oven and we then started the salads and deviled eggs and such. I always make way to much food. I had made my famous apple salad the day before. Krazy and I always have a great time cooking together. She is a great cook just like her brother. Me? I hate cooking but I really love to cook for the holidays. Other times I take spells. I do enjoy trying out new recipes on hubby and he enjoys getting different things as well. Anyway we got everything prepared and Krazy and friend left to go to the store as we had bought everything for the dinner but forgot munchies. So she went to get munchies and came back with flowers in a turkey for me. She can really be thoughtful. Krazy, your the best and I meant what I said at dinner yesterday about me being thankful for having a daughter that cares enough about me to always be near to help me when I need it. When I get sick she is there before I have the chance to hang up the phone. Back to the dinner. I had invited the older couple across the street for dinner as well. They got here about three pm and dinner was just about ready. They brought over four bottles of wine. Yum-yum. Our dinner was perfect. We ate about four pm and had dessert. We watched Ice Age - The melt down. Oh, so cute. Then about eight pm we all got hungry again and out came some of the food. I am still stuffed. Krazy and friend spent the night again as they want leftovers tonight. So, they might as well stay again tonight. I think we will do open face and all the other leftovers as well. That's what hubby wants. He threw out the carcus so Turkey soup is out. I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well. It's all about family and friends. My life is full of both.
