Hiding his son
Yesterday morning I went with a friend and her husband to the Dr.'s office. She was having a procedure done and I tagged along. Her husband is very well versed with the wars of today and past. Anyway, I was just sitting there flipping through magazines and sort of listening to the conversations that were going on. The men were talking about books on war and there was a man in the room that had written a book and they were chatting about that. They then started talking about Iraq. Then this one man said something to the tune of " I will hide my son". Well, I slowly looked up and asked him to repeat what he said which he did. As well as saying that he didn't want his son to die. As you can imagine, my dander rose. We are talking about protecting our country and giving us freedom. I politely said to him, that I thought that was the most herendous act a free man could show. He then told me again he didn't want to take the chance of his son dying. I proceeded to let him know that, "No, I didn't want my son to die either". However, my son has been in Korea when they were fighting, he's been in Desert Storm and Iraq. To top all that off My grandson is autistic and he needs his father at home with him as he does not do change very well. By now I am really mad as I continue to let this man know that my son is out there fighting for our freedom while he is hiding his under a blanket. I was so mad I was just about ready to get up and walk out when they called this man to the back. The receptionist told me "Thank You" for standing up to this man and so did the others in the room. People like this just irritate the hell out of me. I don't get mad very often and usually when I do, it is over as fast as it came on. Not this time tho. It took me a while. In my mind, I do not want to lose my son but if it is to happen at least he leaves us fighting for his country. Other than that I have had a great two weeks. Got rid of some unwanted things and that is always good. I've been working on some projects and that is always fun. Until next time, please clix me. geminis2
